Days Gone Remastered numerous accessibility options for PlayStation 5, including gameplay speed customization, subtitle color variations, and audible cues for collectibles. Most of these features are aesthetic customizations, while a handful directly change gameplay.
“Taking the foundation of our baseline list from Days Gone in 2019, we made it a priority to evolve and improve accessibility to make the player’s experience more accessible and customizable,” PlayStation stated in their official blog.
Gameplay speed customization is catered for players who need to slow things down to pass a level. The gameplay speed ranges from 100% to 75%, 50%, and 25%. Here are the other gameplay options included as part of Days Gone Remastered for the PlayStation 5:
- Collectible Audio Cues
- Recenter Camera on Attack,
- Haptic vibration intensity sliders
- Field of View
- Persistent Center Dot.
Other accessibility options are more so catered towards visibility – there are 11 total subtitle colors to choose from, and the game also has a fully customizable High Contrast Mode, which pairs High Contrast HUD that was used in the original game to aid with navigation and visibility.
Another new feature is UI Narration, which “activates audio descriptions for the user interface reading out key information to aid players in navigating on-screen items such as all menu options and in-game Touchpad options including Inventory, Skills, and Storylines.”
According to PlayStation’s blog, most of these features are coming for PC as well – but not all. They failed to specify which features will be included and which won’t.
Days Gone Remastered is a rerelease of Days Gone, a title that was initially released on April 26, 2019. The remastered version debuts on April 24 at 9 pm PDT for PlayStation 5 and PC.
